Who We Are

Owner & Trainer, D & D Dog Dynamics

Dave Johnson

Dave has been training dogs since 2000 and was a K9 Officer. Dave’s biggest honor was achieved through the Delta Animal Shelter getting named Humanitarian of the Year. Dave has had a passion for dogs ever since he could crawl which clearly shows in his training and overall love for dogs. Every week Dave Johnson from D&D volunteers his time working with dogs at the shelter. Dave also volunteers at Alger Correctional Facility sharing his talents and dog training knowledge. Thanks to Dave’s efforts through this program, more dogs get rehabilitated and trained, and adopted. They also get adopted more quickly, because of their special training through this program. Come grow with Dave as he chases his dream. “Dreams do come true.”

Jacqueline Miaso

Jacquie has been a dog person since she was about 7 years old and her family acquired a collie mix named Champ. She can’t remember a time after that when there was not a dog in her life. She and her husband Ron have cared for a wide variety of rescued dogs – from a worm-laden pup who was left in a trashcan in Detroit, to another one starved down to barely 25% of his ideal body weight, to a 3-year-old whose owners moved out of the house and just left her there. The first time she walked into D&D’s original kennel in Hyde and saw how happy the dogs there were (just running and playing and napping and going in and out and in again thru the doggie door) she knew this was where her dogs would want to be. She began doing the bookkeeping for D&D. The business relationship, respect for, and friendship with Dave grew to the point where Jacquie and Ron wanted to be part of this business. Today, Jacquie is Vice-President and Ron is Treasurer of the corporation: Integrity Canine Care Center, Inc., doing business as D&D Dog Dynamics.
Craving more hands-on contact with dogs, Jacquie attended the PetMassage Training and Research Institute in Toledo and now offers dog massages at both the kennel on Sjoquist Drive and the Training Center at 919 Delta Avenue.
Her current dog Dash – a German Shepherd rescued by the Delta Animal Shelter – is the love of her life (sorry Ron – but at least you’re a close second!).
Jacquie’s work background includes decades of providing bookkeeping and payroll services and QuickBooks training to a wide variety of businesses. She is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper, Certified Non-Profit Accounting Professional, and Certified QuickBooks Desktop Pro-Advisor. She spent four years on the Board of Directors of the Delta Animal Shelter and thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team involved with the design and construction of the new shelter building. For hobbies, Jacquie enjoys knitting, reading, counted cross-stitch, needlepoint, and quilting. She also enjoys painting – walls, not pictures!
Ron and Jacquie moved to the UP from the Detroit area in 2002 because they both really like snow (weird, eh?). What very few people know is that Jacquie was the first girl to enroll in the Rifle Club in her high school in a small town in southern New Jersey and the first student there to ever achieve the rating of Distinguished Expert. Years later she became an NRA Certified Rifle Instructor. Although no longer active in that capacity, she still enjoys target shooting.
